Up for auction is an authentic U.S. 1876 Liberty Double Eagle gold coin. Following experimentation by Chief Engraver James B. Longacre, several $20 pieces, undoubtedly intended as patterns, were produced in 1849. Only one example survives today of the initial coinage, the piece exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution. In the following year, 1850, double eagles were first struck for circulation. Please see the photo for the condition of the coin. Shipping on this item is $25.00 for UPS 2nd day air insured.

Beauty beyond reason. Perfection beyond imagination. If this was a coin in a PCGS certification, this item would fetch well beyond a million dollars. A veritable museum piece, this wonderous item if indeed acquired by a museum, will forever be out of private hands.
A remarkable note that is the finest high denomination note we have ever seen.
A more perfect, brighter, or better centered note is unimaginable.
The chance of a lifetime. Opportunity!
If ever there was a a note that represented collector s dream high denomination note, this is it, as this example has a unique and spectacular appearence. There are many different designs and types of high-denomination notes.
